Five Things You Need To Know: August 6

A note from your local editor - I'm now managing Lynnfield as well as Wakefield Patch.

Today is Monday, August 6. Here are five things you need to know.

Editor’s Note: Starting today, I am the new editor of Wakefield Patch, but I will also continue to be the editor of Lynnfield Patch. The sites will remain separate – they are not merging. If anyone has questions or news tips, email me at William.laforme@patch.com.

Family Event: Early August is general a quiet time in Lynnfield. One upcoming event is next Wednesday, August 8 at 2 p.m., when the library hosts an Invention Convention, for young builders age 5 and up who would like to create with Legos, K’Nex, recycled hoursehold materials, and more.

Town Business: Little town business is planned this upcoming week. The next selectmen's meeting is a week from today, Monday, August 13 at 7 p.m.

Water Restrictions: The Lynnfield Center Water District has yet to lift its ban, applying to all Ipswich River Basin communities, on the use of all sprinklers and irrigation until further notice. A hand-held hose may still be used at any time. Violators will be fined. For updated information, visit the water district website at www.lcwd.us. Also note that the current restriction only applies to customers of the Lynnfield Center Water District, which does not serve all town residents.
