Lunch and a Movie: The Blind Side-The true story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family. Tuesday, September 18th at 11:30. $2.00/$3.00. Please sign up with Elaine in the Activities office. Seating is limited!

BookLovers: On Thursday, September 13th, the Lynnfield Library holds it first BookLovers meeting of the season from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Contact Nancy Ryan at ryan@noblenet.org for more information.  For September’s meeting, members bring one of their own favorites to share.

Walk Of Hope For ALS: Coming up on Saturday, September 8, it’s the 11th Annual Walk of Hope to Benefit ALS research. Proceeds benefit the Angel Fund, which is devoted to fighting ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Registration begins at 9 a.m. that day and the walk is at 11 a.m.  To get involved as an individual or as a team, go to www.theangelfund.org or call the Angel Fund at 781-245-7070.  Donations to the Angel Fund can also be sent to 649 Main Street, Wakefield, MA 01880.  Companies interested in sponsorship opportunities are also sought

Hunger Photo Exhibit: Local nonprofit group Gathering Change is bringing the work of photographer Michael Nye to Endicott College this fall to help highlight the hunger issues he focuses on in his work. .

Rotary Chicken Barbecue: One of the town’s longstanding traditions continues next month on the town common. The 46th Annual Lynnfield Rotary Chicken Barbecue is on Tuesday, September 11 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., with a rain date of September 12. Tickets are $6 for a hot dog dinner and $12 for the chicken. As always, the event also includes entertainment and a classic car show.
