Summer Reading wraps up at the library this morning with Onstage With Max And Suzy.

Today is Thursday, August 23. Here are five things you need to know.

Mermaid Bash: This Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., Studio Poise at Kernwood Plaza on Salem Street is having an End of Summer Mermaid Bash for children aged 4 to 7. For more information, go to DanielleRoback.com/schedule.

Onstage With Max And Suzy: Today at 10:30 a.m., the library closes its 2012 summer reading program with the Kidstock Interactive Theatre production of "Onstage With Max and Suzy." After the performance, summer reading certificates will be distributed to the participants, and some prizes will be raffled.

Curious About Cuisine: Speaking of the library, the monthly gatherings of the Curious About Cuisine group will resume on Wednesday, September 12 from 3 to 4 p.m. Danielle Beaudette of The Cozy Tea Cart will discuss The Basics Of Tea.

Flag Football: In conjunction with the Lynnfield Recreation Dept the Summer street school will host NFL Flag Football for boys and girls aged between 5-14 years old on Saturdays between 10am-1pm starting Saturday Sept 22. The NFL 5 on 5 non-contact program runs for 6-8 weeks and includes just one practice and one game per week, practices are typically before the games. Registration is open until Sept 7 and can be done on-line at www.northshoreflagfootball.com. Registration is $100 for the season which includes a minimum 6 games, official NFL FLAG jerseys and belts for each player to keep, football for the team, trophies for the finalists and a certificate of excellence from the NFL.

Weather: Summer is rapidly winding down but the National Weather Service has an almost perfect looking forecast set for the weekend, with no thunderstorms or rain on the horizon and daytime temperatures in the low 80s.
