Five Things You Need To Know: April 2

April is Autism Awareness Month. Cardio kickboxing fundraiser next Tuesday benefits Doug Flutie Foundation.

Today is Monday, April 2. Here are five things you need to know.

Autism Awareness Month: Parents from Lynnfield and other surrounding communities are marking Autism Awareness Month in April. One event in the area is on Tuesday, April 10 at the Reading Athletic Club (1 General Way, Reading). The 75-minute “All We Have For Autism” cardio kickboxing class starts at 10 a.m., members pay $5, non-members pay $10, and proceeds go toward the Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism. There will also be raffles. Participants are invited to show their support by wearing a blue top.

Passover Party: The Robert I. Lappin Foundation is sponsoring a Passover Party at the Lynnfield Library today from 4 to 5 p.m. Bring the kids by for stories and songs and refreshments. Register in advance with Sharon at 978-565-4450.

Town Election: Don’t forget that the town election is one week from today. Ballots are cast at Lynnfield High School from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Contested town races this year are for selectman, school committee and assessor. This is a separate process from the town meeting that occurs on Monday, April 30.

Calling All Baseball Fans: On  Thursday, April 12, the Lynnfield Senior Center is hosting a gathering to celebrate the start of the baseball season with hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, an ice cream sundaie bar, and peanuts and Cracker Jacks. Sign up at the front desk. $2.
