Community is invited for Prayers for Boston this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. Brief service at 7 p.m.

Prayers for Boston: The Messiah Lutheran Church at 708 Lowell Street in Lynnfield reports that it will be open for Prayers for Boston this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A brief service of spoken prayer will take place at 7 p.m. Contact Pastor Jeremy Pekari at 978-906-5220 with any questions.

Teen Poetry Trivia: Looking ahead to next Monday, April 22nd, the Lynnfield Library hosts Teen Poetry Trivia from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. Teams of 1 to 4 youths in middle school or high school can compete for a sweet cupcake prize, according to the library’s event listing.

Earth Day Volunteering: The Saugus River Watershed Council is seeking some volunteers to help clean up Breakheart Reservation for Earth Day, this Saturday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Breakheart Reservation Visitor Center, 177 Forest Street in Saugus. SRWC will have a table in front of the visitor’s center where people can sign up and pick up gloves and bags. Study shoes and clothes that can get dirty are recommended. Rubber boots may also be useful in some locations.

Vacation Week Carnival: The Wakefield Center Neighborhood Association is running the annual school vacation week carnival in the Galvin Middle School parking lot from now through Saturday evening. Riders can choose passes for 2-6 p.m. or 6-10 p.m. during the week, Saturday’s wristbands are good from noon to 5 p.m. or 5 to 10 p.m.
