Five Things Worth Knowing Today: LHS Band and Choral Students Headed to Orlando

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Friday, April 5th. Here are five things worth knowing today.

The Lynnfield Athletic Association, which helps fund high school sports in town, reports that they are having their final tag day this Sunday, April 7th from 12 to 2 p.m.  Donations can also be sent to LAA and mailed to 275 Essex Street, Lynnfield MA 01940.

Band Trip: 101 LHS band and choral students are reportedly on an extended field trip this weekend to Orlando, Florida. They will perform jazz, concert choir, band at EPCOT, with a jazz combo performance at the Magic Kingdom. Students will also attend a Disney-sponsored music workshop. LHS Choral Director Douglas Hodgkins and Band Director Tom Westmoreland are leading the trip.

From the Lynnfield Senior Center: Dr Louis Giamarco, B.S., D.D.S. will be at the Lynnfield Senior Center talk about the particular dental health needs of seniors. Thurs. April 11 at 12:30. Free. Please sign up. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by noon the day before.

Masonic Open House: The Wakefield-Lynnfield Masonic building at 370 Salem Street has its spring open house this Saturday, April 6th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Dessert Talk: Gloria Mezikofsky from Wakefield Cable Access TVs “Glo’s Kitchen” is coming to the Beebe Library in downtown Wakefield on Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m. for a demonstration on some of the desserts in her new cookbook “Dessert Gems.”
