Five Things Worth Knowing Today: Dine Out Monday, Help Pioneer Singers Go to DC

Today is Friday, April 19th. Here are five things worth knowing today.

The Lynnfield Middle School Pioneer Singers are heading to Baltimore/Washington soon – and you can help them get there by dining at the Buffalo Wild Wings at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers Monday night, April 22nd. Present a voucher and 20% of the meal check is donated to the Pioneer Singers, to go or dine-in.

Teen Poetry Trivia: Coming up Monday, April 22nd, the Lynnfield Library hosts Teen Poetry Trivia from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. Teams of 1 to 4 youths in middle school or high school can compete for a sweet cupcake prize, according to the library’s event listing. 

Fundraiser For Bombing Victims: The four Dockside Restaurants, have announced events at their respective locations for this Sunday to help out the fund. The Dockside in Wakefield, which is located on Main Street in the Greenwood section of town, will have the fundraiser Sunday, April 21st from 1 to 8 p.m.  According to an announcement, the wounded brothers have been regular customers at the Dockside. All of raffle funds raised plus 10% of all proceeds will be donated to help local victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. More information will be provided on this website this morning.

School Vacation Week Carnival: If you’re looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, The Wakefield Center Neighborhood Association’s School Vacation Week Carnival in the Galvin Middle School parking lot on Main Street past the downtown Wakefield area continues Friday and Saturday before wrapping up for the year. Earth Day Volunteers: (NOTE - EVENT POSTPONED INDEFINITELY ON FRIDAY)     The Saugus River Watershed Council is seeking some volunteers to help clean up Breakheart Reservation for Earth Day, this Saturday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Breakheart Reservation Visitor Center, 177 Forest Street in Saugus. SRWC will have a table in front of the visitor’s center where people can sign up and pick up gloves and bags. Study shoes and clothes that can get dirty are recommended. Rubber boots may also be useful in some locations.
