Five Things Worth Knowing: Reid Sacco Cancer Clinic Dedication Today

Today is Wednesday, April 24th. Here are five thing worth knowing today.

Cancer Clinic Dedication: As noted in this article last week on Lynnfield Patch, today is the expected dedication of the Reid R. Sacco Adolescent and Young Adult Clinic for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Tufts Medical Center. Riders, donors and sponsors over the past nine years of Reid’s Ride helped make the center possible.

Town Business: The planning board has scheduled a public hearing at 8 p.m. tonight to discuss the proposed medical marijuana moratorium that will be put before voters at the April 29th town meeting.

'50s Big Band Music: The Standing Room Only concert series comes to a close for the season on Saturday, April 27th at 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in downtown Wakefield featuring Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica - specializing in the Big Band Sound of Esquivel. Poole Lecture: Tonight at 7 p.m., the lecture series commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Americal Civic Center on Main Street in Wakefield wraps up with a historic presentation by John Wall entitled “Our Artist… Franklin Poole.”

A Cappella Concert: Friday night at 7 p.m., it’s an Evening of A Cappella at The Savings Bank Theater at Wakefield High School. Headliners will be The Funx, joined by Wakefield’s Voices of Steel and four high school ensembles from the region. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students/seniors and are available at the door or at Smith Drug (390 Main Street downtown)
