Five Things: Art Show Today and Tomorrow at Sunrise

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Friday, May 31. Here are five things worth knowing today.

MIAA Tournament: The Lynnfield High School baseball team lost to Stoneham last night in 8 innings, 5-4 in an MIAA first round tournament game. Stoneham goes on to a quarterfinal game against the winner of the upcoming Bishop Fenwick/Shawsheen or Bedford game.  LHS softball also lost their MIAA tournament game this week, 1-0 in a preliminary game against Weston, which goes on to play St. Mary’s.

Art Show: This Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, Sunrise Senior Living on Salem Street holds its second art show and tour of homes. The art show features work by residents as well as by members of the Lynnfield Art Guild and others. Click here to learn more.

Medical Sharps Collection: If you have medical sharps you need to get rid of, you can do so Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DPW Recycling Center behind town hall. Click here for more information.

Benefit Concert for the One Fund: Coming up on Friday, May 31 from 7 to 9 p.m., there’s a benefit concert at Galvin Middle School on Main Street in Wakefield for the One Fund featuring James Massone a WHS alum who was also on TV’s “The Voice,” as well as WHS junior and singer-songwriter Natalie Joly. Tickets are $15 and are available on the lawn next to the Americal Civic Center the day of the concert from 2 to 4 p.m. For more information, contact SandiFalvey@yahoo.com or PaulaCameron@comcast.net.

Jazz Concert: Coming up on Saturday, June 8, the Wakefield High School Jazz Ensembles, joined by jazz musicians Tatum Greenblatt and Geoff Vidal, perform a concert at Wakefield High School. Showtime is at 7 p.m. and tickets are $20. For more information, click here.
