Do You Have a Home For a PAWS Cat?

Sometimes great cats get passed over for one reason or another. Check out these homeless cats who are searching for a happy home.

This week is “Adopt-a-Less Adoptable Pet Week” so we are putting the spotlight on some of our cats that get passed over, for a variety of reasons. Sometimes wonderful cats at PAWS find themselves in second, third, or even fourth place to the frisky kitten, to the exotic looking feline, even to the smoochy lap cat who cannot get enough of his human.

Much like the overused expression for “every sock there is a match,” we at PAWS believe that for every cat there is a home. We may just have to dig a little deeper, become a bit more creative in our approach, but a home can be had. That’s what we want to do this week… parade and promote some of our wonderful cats that have yet to be adopted.

We call these cats our Second Look cats and they do deserve a second look. While they may not be for everyone, one of them may just be for you. What one person sees as a personality issue, another simply sees as a quirky trait. One person may see age as a drawback whereas another looks at age as adopting an established personality. It is all about perspective. Each one of these cats is deserving of love and each has love to give. It’s a matter of finding the special person that matches the special cat.

Similar to their human counterparts, these cats have stories to tell. Some have just fallen on hard times having at a mid life lost their much beloved owner. Others are very shy but still loving. Still others have special diets. None of these are deal breakers for the right match.

So this week we ask you to take a step back, pause, and take a second look at…

Killiane, a beautiful but shy gal who will blossom in time. Her special person match would be very patient and not at all worried by Killiane’s need to hide or her initial reticence about being touched. Patience and compassion will be the key to winning Killiane’s love. When she does bond with you, Killiane will be a very devoted cat.

Angel Muse and Mr. Bigglesworth are two beautiful cats who would like to be matched together with someone who thinks age is just a number and that having a wonderful pair of spry and healthy oldsters is just as good, if not better, than chasing crazy kittens off the drapes. Stock up on catnip mice and enjoy these two for many years to come.

Trusty is a friendly and handsome guy who has to eat special food in order to keep his urinary health in order. Trusty seeks a special human who understands that one small issue does not make the cat nor does it determine his long-term health. Trusty is young, playful, and a very cuddly cat.

Gansett is a friendly cat with a touch of moodiness. His special match would be someone who is tolerant and knows when to stay and when to give Gansett his “alone” time. Body language is key to becoming friends with Gansett, whose foster family can give you all the guidance you need to bring out the best in this beautiful cat’s winning personality.
