Children's Author Pays A Visit: On Monday morning, children's book author Lynn Plourde, a Maine resident, is in town visiting with students at Huckleberry Hill and Summer Street elementary schools. Plourde reportedly plans to offer an interactive presentation on her books while offering writing advice to the students. Plourde is the author of 24 picture books and her website is www.lynnplourde.com.

Lymphomathon Is Sunday: On Sunday, May 1, area residents can help support efforts to cure lymphoma by donating to or participating in the Lymphomathon. The annual event takes place around Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield and is organized by several Lynnfield residents. Registration is 9-10 a.m. and the walk is from 10 a.m. – noon. Later This Week: On Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. the Lynnfield Art Guild is holding its annual auction and fundraiser at the Lynnfield Senior Center. All items in the auction are donated by Lynnfield Art Guild and community members.  Those interested in making a donation can bring the items to the center from 1-2:45 p.m. on Wednesday April 27 and from 8 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. on the auction day. No computer monitors, TVs, or large items can be accepted.  The rear doors to the Center will open at 6 p.m. on the night of the The Lynnfield Art Guild uses the funds raised to support a scholarship for a graduating senior from Lynnfield High School studying art.

30 Hour Famine: The Centre Congregational Church Youth Group will be participating in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine from April 29-30.  During the 30 Hour Famine, group will not eat for 30 hours, with a group goal of raising $1,500 to help fight hunger. Each $30 we raise will help feed and care for a child for a month. If you would like to make an online donation or find out more information, click here.
