Bake Sale Raised Over $1,100 for One Fund

Head Chef at Sunrise Senior Living, Tabatha Brennan, baked enough goodies to fill several tables to help out victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Earlier this month, staff members at Sunrise Senior Living in Lynnfield had a bake sale to raise money for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Sunrise Head Chef Tabatha Brennan, who organized the event, reportedly baked enough goods to fill several tables. Other staff members created gift baskets for raffle prizes while also collecting in donations - resulting in $1,100 for the One Fund.

Over the past couple of years around Valentine's Day, Brennan has also done dessert-making presentations at the nearby Lynnfield Senior Center.

"We all really enjoyed the preparation for the event & the sense of community that it brought to our home", said Executive Director Linda Howard.  "Everyone was grateful to be able to help out this cause, & we want to thank all of the residents, family members, and the local businesses for their kindness & generosity around this event."
