Adorable Puppy Looking To Adopt New Owners

Penelope Is a Large Personality in a Small Package

This Adorable Yorkie-Chihuahua Mix Wants to Adopt You

Hi! My name is Penelope Tofs, but you can call me Penny.  Actually, you can call me anything you like if we can be friends.  Ok, now that we are friends, I have to tell you a secret.  I am looking to adopt a person or family.  Please don’t tell anyone because I don’t want my potential adoptees to get scared off.  Sometimes people don’t know they are being adopted by the rescue pet and not the other way around.  Oh my goodness, people can be silly.

People describe me as a big personality in a small package and they ooh and ahh over my cuteness and spunk (whatever that is).  I may be only five pounds, but that does not mean I don’t know what I want.  I like lots of things.  I am very curious and plucky.  You have to be when you are looking for a new home.  I can’t afford to waste time because it is spring time, the weather is great, and I want to get outside and play with my new people.

I don’t think it is going to take me too long to make my choice.  Even if I am a bit cautious when we first meet, I assure you it won’t take me long to accept you as my newest friend.  Once introductions are over, I will be very curious about you and everything else.  Maybe a nice treat would seal the deal?  I like a treat or two (who doesn’t).  Or you could throw a ball for me.  Of course I like to play since I am only about a year old, which is really still puppyhood.  I do like to have fun, especially with you or other dogs my own size.  Fun—isn’t that what life is all about?

As you can see from my pictures, I am an adorable girl who looks like a mix between a wire-haired terrier type, such as a Yorkie, and a maybe a Chihuahua.  Being tiny, I have a limited view of the world.  But, I won’t mind if you pick me up so I can see what is going on around me.  I enjoy being petted and loved.  Stroke my face and I will adore you forever.   I am very sweet and friendly, even if I sometimes start out a bit carefully.  Big dogs do make me a little nervous, but I never growl and I think I would be fine with most dogs, once we got acquainted.

I could use a bit more schooling in some areas, like learning to sit and stay, and we can do that together, once I adopt you.  I am also getting very good at doing my business outside.  I learn fast and potty training seems like a good skill to have for family living. I just really want to please you once I have picked you as mine.

One skill I have definitely mastered is that I will come if you call me.  My question for you is: will you come if I call?  I think that would be a good character trait in a human.  But, if you are going to get adopted by me, it is essential because I want to go home with you right now.  So, my new friend-to-be, Come!  Now! Please?
