Adopt Stuart, a Friendly Orange Cat

A friendly, sweet guy seeks love and affection.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Stuart and I’m a real lap cat. There is nowhere I would rather be than sitting in your lap and nothing I would like better than being patted. I promise that I am not one of those felines that will tease you with a quick visit, jumping off the minute things don’t go my way. If you like to cuddle, I would be your dream feline since I will roll over for you. Can you be sure to give me some belly rubs while you are at it?  If you look at my picture, you will see that I have a really beautiful and touchable tummy.

I hope you can tell that I am a people guy. I am going to wait in the window for you to come home from work and I will greet you at the door.  I will put my paws on your shoulders to look at you eye-to-eye so we can decide what our night will include. My hope is that you will play with me, brush me, and pet me. I can sit on your lap while you watch television, or we can have a fast moving game of chase the string.  Whatever you decide is fine with me as long as we are doing it together.

Although I am young and fit, I have tested positive for the feline leukemia virus. Please do not stop reading now. You are already in love with me and you know it. I promise my foster can answer all your questions about this test result and the bottom line is that I am currently healthy and expect to live a long life. I would love to find a home with another FeLeuk+ cat so I can have a buddy. I even get along with dogs! But, if I am your one and only, that means I won’t have to share your love and attention—so that suits me fine, too.

With spring upon us, PAWS will soon be getting many requests to take in young mother cats with litters so we are currently seeking new volunteer foster homes. For information on becoming a PAWS foster, please contact us via phone or email, or drop by any of our adoption hours.

About this column: Each week, Patch will feature an adoptable pet needing a home from PAWS, an all-volunteer animal welfare organization based in Wakefield, MA.  Founded by Esther Nowell in 1982, PAWS responds to animal-related needs in many communities north of Boston.  The PAWS service areas includes Wakefield, Lynnfield, Reading, North Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Woburn, Winchester, and Malden.  PAWS' mission is to promote and protect the rights and well-being of all domestic animals and wildlife, and foster a greater understanding of animal welfare and animal rights through education.  PAWS receives no local, state or federal funding - the budget is completely funded by membership dues, adoption services, annual fundraising efforts, and kind donations from friends and members.Related Topics:Adopt, Cats, PAWS, Pet Adoptions, and paws wakefield
