Taking Yoga but Curious About Pilates?

How Pilates compares & compliments yoga.

Pilates improves flexibility & strength giving a full body work out focusing on proper alignment, improving flexibility & strength to abdominal & back muscles.  Pilates, like yoga which was part of the inspiration for the Pilates method, creates a centering mind-body connection.  It is not only a great core workout, but with its emphasis on proper breathing it is also a great stress reducer.  Pilates, like yoga & meditation practice is a time to place everything else aside and engage in an energizing and relaxing meditation of body, mind and spirit.

The smooth, steady movements quiet your mind and soothe your nervous system.   As you lengthen and strengthen your muscles, you'll improve your circulation and whisk tension away.  Each Pilate’s workout can leave you feeling calm, balanced, and rejuvenated.

It is very beginner friendly since all movements are demonstrated with options suited to each participant’s fitness level.

Yoga & Pilates complement each other well.  The techniques of Pilates will give you a stronger core making you less prone to injury in everything you do including yoga.
