The 5 Benefits of Martial Arts Training

The Five Benefits of Martial Arts Training

If you are wondering why Martial Arts is an amazing activity for your child, please take a look at the five benefits you can expect to see after a short period of training. As the training continues, over a longer period of time, habits are formed that will transfer into all areas of life.

1. Increased Concentration Level - Most parents get their children into Martial Arts training due to a lack of concentration. As your child continues to train, concentration is a skill that will certainly improve. In class your child is taught what concentration is, how to control their concentration skills more effectively, and how important this concept is to becoming successful in Martial Arts and in life. We also teach while performing a Kata (a series or pre-determined martial arts moves) and Board breaking, which concentration is the key to execute.

2. Increased Confidence - At Cervizzi's we often use the word “Confidence” in class to teach the student what it is, and how confidence has a certain look and sound. Our belt system is designed to build confidence through earned achievement, which is highlighted during our Belt Graduations. This is a time for the entire family to come in and support the achievement of their child and see their progression. Our instructors aim to make your child feel secure. We give them nicknames and are sure to use positive reinforcement when correcting their technique.

3. Character Development - In our classes, Character Development is a main concept of instruction in every class. It is our belief that a Black Belt should have the highest level of Character, this is why during the Black Belt Testing students are tested on defining the Principles of a Black-Belt: Modesty, Courtesy, Self-Control, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit, and Integrity. These ideals are meant to influence the way they interact socially with their community.

4. Respect - Respect, at Cervizzi's, is taught from day one of training. Our students understand that first and foremost, you must respect your parents. We teach our students that our parents make everything possible and without respecting them, in most cases you will not have respect for anyone. Students are taught that our grandparents, parents, guardians, and elders are the most important role models for us. In addition we include the importance of school teachers, coaches, and instructors and how all of these people are working to help them grow and should therefore be treated with respect.

5. Decision Making With over 30 years of teaching experience between our Head Instructors, we have developed a complete system of Martial Arts and Character Development for your child. As they grow, they will be faced with decisions that will affect the rest of their lives. At Cervizzi's, we discuss the importance of decision making, decision evaluation and provide your child with tools to help them make the best decisions they can.  Since we teach more about life skills than any other school in the area, if you choose Cervizzi's you are making the best decision for your child.
