What is your commitment level?

What's Your Commitment level? Sometimes when we hear the word commitment we get frightened, "oh no I have to actually show up to see results?"

What’s Your Commitment level? Sometimes when we hear the word commitment we get frightened, “oh no I have to actually show up to see results?” “What?” Martial Arts is a commitment, Getting in shape is a commitment, trying to be the best you can be both mentally and physically is a commitment! Get my point? Teaching children commitment at an early age really helps them later in life. We demonstrate this by going to work every day, or by volunteering to coach etc. We also demonstrate never giving up. These are life lesson that cannot be forgotten. So, when people ask, why can’t I pay per class or why can’t I just show up when I feel like it? So, what’s my answer? Because it’s a commitment! Paying per class, or as you go means you have the option not to show up, or stay on the couch – there is no progression, no achievements. By making the effort to do anything whether it be sports, dance, martial arts or a job – you have made a promise to the team, or person that you will show up and do what’s asked. Our Children need to be shown this, not by coming and going when it’s convenient, but by following what you said you would do, and being accountable. So many kids are not held accountable for their actions or non-actions, let’s set the example – together! As always, you can reach me at cervizzis@aol.com – Sensei Janice
