TROUBLE THE DOG TO SUPPORT BOSTON'S ANNUAL WOUNDED VET RIDE APRIL 27, 2014

“They Fought, We Ride” To Honor Wounded Veterans of New England

Sheila Duncan, President of Larkin LTD. will be displaying the brand she created - Trouble The Dog® (/www.troublethedog.net) at Boston’s Annual Wounded Vet Ride  (http://www.theyfoughtweride.com/ ) on Sunday April 27, 2014 at Suffolk Downs in East Boston.  More than 6,000 people are expected to attend. Boston’s Annual Wounded Vet Bike Run was initially inspired by Cpl. Vincent Mannion Brodeur in 2011. He was one of the most severely wounded veterans in the nation.  Brodeur is the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. While serving in Iraq in 2007 with the 82nd Airborne, he was critically injured by an explosive device. After surviving 40 operations and a year- long coma, he has become an inspiration for people throughout the nation. Each year, Boston’s Wounded Vet Ride is dedicated to helping different veterans with various needs.

Duncan and the brand she helped create - Trouble The Dog have helped children around the world to have hope and be resilient when they are experiencing troubles – big or small.  So why the Wounded Vet Ride?  “After visiting the Walter Reed Army Hospital and donating hundreds of Trouble plush dogs and books to the soldiers and their families, I felt compelled to continue to help families and the Vets that will be participating in this year’s Wounded Vet Run.”

Each year, Boston’s Wounded Vet Run is dedicated to different veterans and is entirely run by dedicated volunteers. 100% of the profits go directly to the wounded veterans or charities of their choosing. In the past, proceeds have helped towards housing modifications for a disabled veteran to improve quality of life.  One of the first recipients was Evan Reichenthal, who inspired Trouble The Dog’s visit to Walter Reed.
