Selectmen Approve Entertainment License for The Ship

Recently re-opened restaurant on Route 1 in Lynnfield expects to offer light music for dining patrons.

The recently re-opened Ship restaurant on Route 1 in Lynnfield gained approval from the selectmen this week for light musical entertainment such as a pianist, singer, or violinist.

Representatives from the restaurant, including owner Nino Micozzi, were at Monday's selectmen's meeting to field questions from town officials. General Manager John Shelpak indicated that the planned music "is not anything that would be loud or blasting - It would be for the benefit of patrons having dinner."

It remains to be seen if the piano will work out with the current layout of the restaurant. Restaurant representatives also raised the possibility of having a singer or violinist in a veranda so they could also be heard by shoppers in the adjoining parking lot.
