RMLD: 'Our Face Is Red' Over Calendar Error

Utility apologizes for Feb. 25 typo in popular calendar, which features several vintage photos from Lynnfield.

The following is an announcement by Reading Municipal Light Department:

Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD)’s popular historical calendar has been distributed to local town halls, libraries, senior centers, RMLD headquarters at 230 Ash Street and RMLD pay stations – but with a twist!  In the Month of February, the “5” in February 25 shifted to the next line, so after February 24, Saturday reads February 2 and Sunday reads February 5, then February 26, 27, 28 and 29 are moved over a day.

We apologize for the error.

The process of preparing the calendar often takes better than six months and is meticulously checked and re-checked for accuracy.  Though there are many of sets of eyes that continuously edit and re-edit, sometimes shifting occurs just before printing, and we have experienced this with the 2012 calendar.

Our feedback from customers is always rewarding, not only in their pleasure in looking at old photos and reading about the local histories, receiving electrical safety and conservation tips, but also keeping track of their schedules using the layout of  the calendar, which has large day spaces for writing appointments and family celebrations. We also appreciate constructive comments and make note of them.
