Concert Raised Over $1,000 for Gathering Change

About 140 people showed up Sunday at the "Musical Hysterics" concert at Centre Congregational Church.

Sunday's Musical Hysterics concert at Centre Congregational Church reportedly raised $1,025 for local nonprofit group Gathering Change.

Noel Smith, a professional singer and music teacher who lives in Lynnfield, holds the concert each year with her students. This year, 21 students ranging from age 14 to their 30s performed a variety of funny musical theater songs and other selections.

Smith reported that about 140 people attended the concert, and that its proceeds will actually help food banks in Wakefield and Peabody purchase several thousand dollars worth of food for those in need.
