William C. Sano Returns With "Four Icons Of American Music'

William C. Sano returns for another wonderful series featuring four of our great American singers. Sano has been a pianist, organist, vocal music teacher and choral conductor for over forty-five years.  

We start off with Judy Garland on October 30, 2012. She started performing at age 2 1/2 as “Baby Francis Gumm” and was fired by MGM. 

Tony Bennett follows on November 6. He never finished high school, served in WWII, leads a secret life as a watercolorist under his original name and is still performing at 86.

We showcase Ella Fitzgerald “The First Lady of Song” on November 13. She grew up on the streets of Harlem, sold over 40 million records, and perfected scat singing. 

November 20 brings us “Old Blue Eyes” who learned music by ear (never learned to read music), was a founding member of the Rat Pack and enjoyed a successful career as a film actor. 

All programs are Tuesdays 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. Meeting House on the Common, Corners of Main and Summer Streets, Lynnfield, Mass.
