Wakefield Repertory Theatre presents “Nunsense”,  the musical comedy by Dan Goggins, on January 25 and 26 at 8:00pm and January 27 at 3:00pm.  “Nunsense” is a hilarious spoof about the misadventures of five of the nineteen surviving Little Sisters of Hoboken (the rest were struck down by botulism after eating tainted vichyssoise and are now being stored in the convent's deep freeze.) The nuns decide to stage a fundraising variety show to pay for the burials of their deceased sisters. Participating in the project are Mother Superior Mary Regina, a former circus performer who can not resist the spotlight; her competitive but dignified rival, second-in-command Sister Mary Hubert; Sister Robert Anne, a streetwise nun from Brooklyn; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is determined to be the world's first ballerina nun; and wacky, childlike Sister Mary Amnesia, who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. The entertainment that they present includes solo star turns, madcap dance routines, and an audience quiz.

The show will be presented at the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon Street, Wakefield and features local actors.  All tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at http://www.ticketstage.com/WRT or by calling (781) 245-1173.
