Photographer Barbara Rozavsky In Town Tonight

Accomplished local photographer gives presentation 7 p.m. tonight at Lynnfield Senior Center.

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Art Guild:

The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) is proud to continue its season with a demonstration by photographer Barbara Rozavsky on the fundamentals of composition and how to use composition to improve your photography and paintings. 

Ms. Rozavsky has been a member of the Greater Lynn Photographic Association (GLPA) since 1971. A past president of the organization, she recently was the editor of GLPA’s monthly newsletter. She has also served as a presentation director of the Greater Lynn International Exhibition for more than 25 years. GLPA recognized Barbara’s contribution to the association by bestowing the association’s Honorary Life Vice President status in 2010.

In addition to her involvement with GLPA, Barbara also served as chairman of the Yankee Photographic Society and is currently the president of the New England Camera Club Council. Along with lecturing and judging at other area camera clubs, Barbara teaches basic photography classes at North Shore Community College, which she has done for more than 30 years.

In recognition of her promotion of photography and her service to photographic organizations, Barbara was made an MNEC, a Master Member of the New England Camera Club Council in 1987. After 32 years as an elementary school classroom teacher and school librarian in the Lynn Public Schools, Barbara retired early from public education to change careers. She is currently the manager of copyediting and proofreading at a publishing services company in Boston.

Following the presentation, there will be an informal question-and-answer session about using your camera. The evening will conclude with the GLPA Member Mini-Show, a series of photo essays set to music.

The public is invited to attend this and all monthly LAG demonstrations, which include refreshments and the opportunity to meet area artists. The event is free to members; non-members are requested to pay a fee of $5.  Doors open at 6:45 PM.  The LAG has over 200 members in art, crafts and photography from over 25 area communities.  Membership includes the privilege of participating in both the winter show and spring judged show.
