Me Time: Musical Performances In The Area

Introducing the weekly "Me Time" column, which aims to help locals find fun and relaxing nearby activities.

Are you looking for some ways to get out and relax without driving too far? One option may be take in some of the musical performances taking place in the region in the coming weeks.

For example, the Stoneham Theater is currently presenting "" The story is based on a Korean folk tale and tells the tale of a young girl trying to find a miraculous cure for her father's lost eyesight.

Performances are running until the end of February and more information is available at StonehamTheatre.org.

Another option for this weekend takes place in Boston at the Wang Center. The performance features traditional Chinese music and dance and will run this Friday, Saturday and Sunday with 7:30 p.m. showtimes on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday.

Finally, looking ahead, the Wakefield Repertory Theatre has announced that it will present a musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's 1869 classic "Little Women." Performances are scheduled for the Wakefield/Lynnfield United Methodist Church on March 11, 12, and 19 at 8 p.m. and March 13 and 20 at 3 p.m. Tickets are regularly $17 for adults and $15 for students/seniors.
