Local Dancers Compete in Elite Performance Challenge

National competition in Boston drew dancers from a wide variety of styles, ages 5-19. Ten of them were from Lynnfield.

Diane Abraham of Dance Studio of Wakefield reports that students recently spent four days competing at the Elite Performance Challenge National Competition at the Park Plaza in Boston - 10 of them from Lynnfield.

The event reportedly drew dancers from various states, ages 8 through 19, competing in categories that included jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater. To get to this event, the dancers had to compete at a previous regional in Norwood.

“Aside from many of our routines and dancers recieving Platinum and Elite Platinum awards and adjudications we were also nominated for the "Entertainment" Award for the routine called "Turbulence" and won that category which was announced at a Red Carpet Gala Event,” said Abraham in an email to Wakefield Patch.
