The LAG  (Lynnfield Art Guild) annual spring fine arts and crafts judged exhibit will be held on Saturday May 18 in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer Street,  Lynnfield from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. to coincide with Lynnfield Day and Townscape’s geranium sale. A reception for the artists open to the public will be held on Friday night May 17th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. This is the Guild’s only judged show and reflects the best work of its members in all mediums.  The four main categories are: 1) Paintings under glass; 2) Paintings not under glass; 3) Photography/Digital Media and 4) Sculpture/Crafts.  There also will be an art bin of unframed matted and wrapped work, including original art.  In addition to the judged “Best in Show” and awards for First, Second, Third Places and Honorable Mention, the “Most Popular” artwork will be chosen by vote of the attendees. Lynnfield students will be joining in the show in student categories with student artwork judged for ribbon awards of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prizes and Honorable Mention.  All paintings exhibited are original works; all crafts are entirely hand-done; and most of the items will be for sale.

The Lynnfield Art Guild is grateful to the following local businesses for once again offering monetary prizes for works by both members and students:  Rob Farris, Wood End Studio of Lynn award of $50 to an artist for excellence in oil painting; Wakefield Cooperative Bank award of $100 to an adult artist; and Wakefield Cooperative Bank $50 award to high school student artist.
