John Caggiano Gives Oil Painting Demo Thursday

Lynnfield Art Guild hosts monthly demonstrations at Senior Center.

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Art Guild:

The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) is proud to continue its monthly demonstrations with an oil painting demonstration by Rockport artist John Caggiano. The demonstration, which begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, will be held at the Lynnfield Senior Center, 525 Salem Street, Lynnfield with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. and refreshments served.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Caggiano received a BA with honors from Brooklyn College and an MFA with honors from the Pratt Institute.  His education was supplemented by courses at the Brooklyn Museum and The Studio and Forum of Stage Design in New York. His love of nature drew him to New England where he utilizes the unique quality of Cape Ann’s light in his colorful impressionistic paintings.  From his adopted home of Rockport, he also travels extensively in the United States and abroad painting the local scenes. He is a member of many art organizations, and has served as president of the Rockport Art Association where he remains on the Board of Governors.

John Caggiano’s work can be found in many corporate andprivate collections and has been featured in numerous books and magazines. He maintains a gallery on Main Street and a studio on Bearskin Neck, Rockport.  The public is invited to attend this and all monthly LAG demonstrations, which offer a great opportunity to meet other area artists.  The LAG has over 200 members in art, crafts and photography from over 25 area communities.
