LAG Annual Spring Judged Art Show

he LAG  (Lynnfield Art Guild) annual spring fine arts and crafts judged exhibit will be held on Saturday May 19th in the Centre Congregational Church, Lynnfield from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM to coincide with the town’s Geraniumfest celebration.

A reception for the artists open to the public will be held on Friday night May 18 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. This is the Guild’s only judged show and reflects the best work of its members in all mediums.  The four main categories are: 1) Paintings under glass; 2) Paintings not under glass; 3) Photography/Digital Media and 4) Sculpture/Crafts.  There will be a “Best in Show” and Honorable Mention Awards in addition to awards for First, Second and Third Places, and the “Most Popular” artwork chosen by vote of the attendees. Lynnfield students will be joining in the show in student categories. Many of the items will be for sale.  All paintings exhibited are original works and all crafts are entirely hand done; there will be many unframed items including matted and wrapped originals.   The Lynnfield Art Guild is grateful to the Wakefield Cooperative Bank for once again offering monetary prizes for works by both members and students.

There will be a raffle of several wonderful items:  an original painting by Guild member Charlie Gargas; an original photograph by Guild member Shaila Desai, and certificates  from the Artist and Craftsman’s Supply and the Ninety-Nine Restaurant.  Raffle tickets will be available at the door.  Proceeds benefit an annual scholarship for a deserving graduating high school student who has shown an interest in art studies. Membership in the Guild is open to all artists, craftspeople and photographers and includes a monthly demonstration and newsletter and the privilege of participating in this and the December show.  For further information, please call 781-334-6765.
