Brian Maes Band Plays Tonight On Lynnfield Common

Concerts on town common each Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. from now through August 1.

The following is an announcement from the Concerts On The Common Series:

Back by popular demand, the Brian Maes Band plays the Lynnfield Library Concerts on the Common series Wednesday July 18 from 6-8 p.m. (rain date Thursday).  Joined by two additional musicians this year, including Maes’ wife MaryBeth, this 6 piece group will perform a combination of rhythm & blues, contemporary and pop rock music.  

Berklee College of Music graduate Brian Maes is a keyboardist and lead vocalist accompanied by talented band members including guitar player and Lynnfield native Charles “Kook” Lawry.  He is a former member of  “RTZ”, a band that featured musicians from the popular group “Boston” and most recently has been playing with the local group “Ernie and the Automatics” .   His bands have opened for numerous big name performers such as Deep Purple, Peter Wolf, U2 and Aerosmith.  Also a singer/songwriter,  Maes composed “When Your Love Comes Back Around” a song that hit #26 on the Billboard National Charts.

The Brian Maes Band is sponsored by Northrup Associates Realtors -celebrating their 60th year.  The Friends of the Lynnfield Library group provides funding for various library programs and will run the fundraising refreshment table selling Kayem hot dogs, snacks and drinks.  The free children’s activities include hula hoops, chalk, jump ropes, balls and a crafts table featuring plant-and-decorate-your-own flower pots.  Organized games such as ring toss, ball toss, and potato sack & three-legged races will be run during intermission.

Raffle tickets will be sold at all concerts to encourage donations.  Proceeds will be used to defray costs and enhance the Lynnfield Summer Concerts experience as well as to sponsor library music programs.  This week’s raffle prizes have been donated by: Reedy Meadow Golf Course, Zynga self-serve yogurt shop, Christmas Tree Shops, Outback Restaurant, Baubles Jewelry and Whole Foods.  All donations are very much appreciated so please give generously.
