The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) proudly continues its monthly demonstration meetings this season with a watercolor painting demonstration by Alan Bull, artist, teacher and illustrator with a studio in Newburyport, Massachusetts. While a student in Old Town Maine and at the University of Maine, Alan Bull studied with artists Nina Jerome and Susan Groce, and honed his skills at weekly life drawing sessions at Jerome’s Bangor studio with Bangor Daily News cartoonist Vic Runtz and other local artists. After Alan received his BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art, he moved to Massachusetts to work for the renowned glass artist Dan Dailey and soon after began painting and exhibiting full-time.  His work is in numerous public and private collections. His paintings have appeared in Architectural Digest, the Boston Globe, and the New York Times; House Beautiful and many other publications.

Gallery exhibitions have included solo shows in Rockland, Portland and Boston as well as shows in New York and London, and artists such as Elizabeth Peyton and Rob Pruitt have enrolled in his summer plein air painting workshops on Long Island. Visit his website at www.alanbull.com which shows his truck paintings of “twelve old trucks” for an upcoming 2014 Calendar.

Her work includes original art in oil, acrylic, watercolor and photography. The pre-show reception will include light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres prepared by her former students and LAG volunteers.
