Then and Now: The 'Other' Lynnfield Pioneers

Each week, Lynnfield Patch takes a look at the town's past using items found for sale on eBay.

This week doesn't go back very far in time, but it's an interesting item that is very much a part of Lynnfield's lore. The Lynnfield Pioneers were an alternative rock band and according to a check around the Internet, consisted of singer/keyboard player Dan Cook , guitarist Mike Jansen and drummer J.P. (or John Paul) Jones.

This link on the Matador Records website says that their debut album was "Emerge" in 1997, with "Free Popcorn" coming out in 1999.

This particular item up for sale on eBay is a press photo of the three band members, apparently released by Matador Records.

Otherwise, there are some videos by the band on Youtube, such as "Maximum Sunshine."
