Then and Now: The English Tea House

Over the past few years of writing about Lynnfield history and doing these eBay report columns, from time to time I’ve seen mentions online of what was apparently a long-ago restaurant in town called the English Tea House, at 275 Broadway (Route 1 North).

It’s tough to tell what decade this particular matchbook came from, although the 1960s or 1970s could be a fair guess. A check on Google Maps finds that Kelly Nissan now occupies the site of the former English Tea House – which, despite the name, boated “Home Style American Cuisine.” So forget about those crumpets and definitely forget about bangers and mash.
