Rotary Chicken BBQ Coming Up, and Two Town Vacancies Announced

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Friday, August 30. Here are five things worth knowing today.

Town Vacancies: The Town of Lynnfield is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies created by resignations from elected boards.

Lillian Ross has resigned from the Lynnfield Housing Authority and Ronald Patton has resigned from the Board of Assessors. The Board of Selectmen will meet in joint session with each of these boards to elect new members to these boards. Those appointed will serve until the April 2014 town election.

Submissions should be received by September 13, 2013.

The annual Lynnfield Rotary Chicken BBQ is coming up on Tuesday, September 10 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Lynnfield Common. The BBQ raises a considerable amount to help fund the Rotary’s local activities in the communities. Tickets are available the day of the event.

The Lynnfield High School Hockey Team has announced that its annual car wash fundraiser is Sunday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Suggested donation is $5 per car.
