A high wind watch is in effect for the region from Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory extends from Southeastern Mass. And Cape Cod and the islands up through Eastern Essex County.

Thursday morning is expected to see rain and patchy fog before 1 p.m., with foggy conditions returning after 5 p.m. and winds that could once again gust as high as 43 mph during the day. Thursday night’s forecast calls for more rain and snow before skies begin to clear heading into Friday.
