FOLL Planning Annual Book Sale

Annual Friends of the Lynnfield Library book sale takes place during Geraniumfest in May. Donations are now being sought for books, music CDs, DVDs.

The following is an announcement from the Friends of the Lynnfield Library:

In preparation for the popular annual Geraniumfest in May, the Friends of  the Lynnfield Library is actively seeking donations of gently used adult, young adult and children’s books, paperbacks, music CDs, and DVDs for their book sale on the common.

To make it as easy as possible for residents to donate materials, the Friends will continue to offer a home pick-up service.  If you have books, CDs, or DVDs to donate, simply call Friends’ Board member Alexis Gilbode at 781-608-4179 to arrange a time for a Library Friends volunteer to make a pick up at your home, and provide a receipt for your donation.    Boxed or bagged donations may also be left at the circulation desk, or in the Library foyer. Unfortunately the blue containers are unavailable until the spring because we must place our book drop at the bottom of the ramp for the winter. Small and large adult paperbacks, DVDs, music CDs, and hardcover or paperback children’s and young adult books are needed.

“With the recent proliferation of book donation options in town, we realize people have to make choices about where they donate materials,” said Nancy Ryan, Library Director.  “We hope people will consider sharing their donations with us.  This sale has become a substantial fund raiser for us since we began it in 2000.  Donations to the Geraniumfest Book Sale support the Library 100 percent.  Items that go unsold will be offered to benefit other local community organizations.”

The Geraniumfest Book Sale will take place rain or shine on Saturday, May 19, 2012 on the Common from 9am to 1pm. In case of inclement weather, the sale will move inside the library.
