Don't You Just Love A Peppermint?

Peppermint is our Treat For You

Hello, I'm Peppermint, a sweet confection of a girl who is in the market for someone who can appreciate a cat in the prime of her life with tons of love to offer.  When it comes to choosing my friends, I definitely pick people over cats.  What can I say but that I just love humans?  As for my personality, I run the gamut from the energetic feline to a mellow lap girl who wants to curl up and snuggle the evening away with you.  I am the perfect combination, don’t you think?  I am black and white, sugar and sass, sweet and snappy.

Life with me will never be boring.  I am always up for a game.  I like it when you hide my favorite toys and I can hunt for them throughout in the house.  I also like to be helpful, as you can see in my pictures.  I can be a book rest while you are reading, or give my two-cents when you are struggling over the crossword puzzle.  I can also help keep your computer keyboard from cooling off while you are lost in thought.  I like to sit there right in front of you, unless, of course I’m busy watching the 24/7 squirrel channel outside the window.

I really do love the great outdoors, and I used to get very grumpy about being an indoor-only kitty.  When I tried to explain this to my foster, she just did not listen, at first.  So, one nice day when she wasn’t looking, I snuck outside!  I was giddy with delight. I pranced from flower to flower like Ferdinand the Bull soaking up the fresh air and sunshine!  Suddenly it made sense to my foster mother why I had sometimes been a bit grumpy with her.  We both felt bad about those times and I explained that I just really needed a bit of fresh air.

Ever concerned about keeping me safe, she tried a harness.  Don’t even get me started on that thing!  I know there are risks out there, including my neighbor’s dogs who I’ve met up close and from 20 feet up a tree. (I won’t let that happen again.) So, these days, I go out for a short time every day with my foster family carefully watching me.  I always enjoy gardening with them and my foster dad has even taught me to come when he whistles.  Hey, I know where my dinner dish is.  Life is good, as it says on the t-shirts.

Well, it was good.  Then, the kittens came!  Litter after litter, all summer long. Horrors! Those pesky little imps, all cute and adorable – yuck.  No matter how much I hissed or spit at them, they never left me alone.  I knew they had just as much right to be there as I did, but I didn’t have to like them.  I am the kind of girl who needs to be the star of her home, in a home where things are calm and predictable.  That is why I asked to be featured in the weekly adoption column.  I want a real home with my own, personal people and no other pets.  Ok, I am a bit of a diva.  But I am also a very cute one.

If you would like a minty-fresh cat who wants to be your one and only, and if you have a nice, fenced-in yard where I can have some monitored outside time to get my yah-yah’s out, then I am your peppermint.  Grab me.  I will purr the night away on your lap and I can guarantee a mouse will never dare show its face in your basement.  I’m just waiting for that special person who will be patient with me, see my very sweet side, and be my buddy forever.  Call PAWS now, before I eat a kitten.  Ok, just kidding, I would never do that.  But, do call PAWS now so we can meet and talk about our future.
