50th Annual Country Store Event Is On Dec. 1

On Saturday, Dec. 1 the Lynnfield Historical Society holds its 50th annual Country Store event.

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Historical Society: 

On Saturday, December 1st, in the 1714 Meeting House, the Lynnfield Historical Society is presenting its 50th annual holiday Country Store. This year’s country store will feature the traditional favorites as well as some new attractions and extended hours. 

The Store will open at 9 a.m.  On sale will be traditional holiday greens in the form of small, medium and large wreaths and swags; boxwood trees; Vermont cheddar cheese; ham, beans and brown bread dinner to go; a variety of home-made baked goods; penny candy; freshly popped popcorn; and homemade jams.  The kitchen will also be open selling and serving coffee, cider, donuts, hot dogs and sandwiches.

Featured again this year is Santa’s North Pole Fishing Hole sponsored by Colby Properties.   Beginning at 10:00 a.m., Children will have the opportunity to “fish” for prizes upstairs in the Meeting House. 

At 10:45 a.m., Santa will arrive via fire truck and will be available upstairs in the Meeting House for photos with children.  There will also be a professional photographer on hand taking pictures for a small donation to the Historical Society.

The Meeting House will stay open later this year up to and throughout the tree lighting ceremony selling pizza and other refreshments to those attending the festivities.
