Teen Trivia and BookLovers Group Among This Week's Library Events

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Tuesday, October 15. Here are five things worth knowing today.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library holds teen trivia, with a focus on young adult books and their authors. Jeanne’s Bakeshop is providing a cupcake prize for the winners. Ages 12-18, no registration required.

On Sunday, October 20 at 10 a.m., local author and historian Bob McLaughlin and the Friends of Pleasure Island will hold a tour of the former Pleasure Island amusement park site – now known as the Edgewater Office Park on Audubon Road. Learn more about it here.

The Lynnfield Library’s BookLovers group meets next on Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. on the mezzanine. This month’s topic is “The Swerve: How The World Became Modern,” by Stephen Greenblatt.

From the Lynnfield Senior Center: Karen Orband, R.N will be here to discuss diabetes, what it is and treatments. Thurs, Oct. 31st at 12:30. Free. Please sign up. Lunch is at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. Sign up for lunch by noon the day before. Depending on interest this could be a monthly discussion.
