Kids' Movie Night, Electronics Recycling This Weekend In Town

Today is Friday, November 1. Here are five things worth knowing today.

From Centre Congregational Church: Need to get rid of old appliances or electronics? Recycle them at Centre Church this Sat, Nov. 2 from 9am-1pm. Lower cost than town recycling stickers. Check the website for details www.centre-church.org or call 781-334-3050.

This evening, Lynnfield Recreation presents a movie night at the Summer Street School running from 6:10 to 8:40 p.m. Kids aged 7-11 are welcome for the movie, which will be The Croods, rated PG. You can register for this and other activities on the Lynnfield Recreation website.

The next Linden Tree Coffeehouse performance is Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. with Pete and Maura Kennedy, as well as an opening set from young fiddling prodigy “Fiddling Quinn.” Tickets are $18. Complete info on this and other shows can be found at this link.

Next Monday the Lynnfield Library is holding a Diwali Party to celebrate the Hindu and Sikh festival. The kids will hear a story about the mythology behind the holiday and will also make a craft and sample some Indian food. All ages welcome.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., the Beebe Library in downtown Wakefield welcomes cave explorer Aaron Tester for a talk about his experiences exploring the various types of caves found in Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky and elsewhere.
