WRYT Presents "The Prince and the Pauper"

Two young lookalikes, Tom Canty, a poor boy from a London slum, and Prince Edward, son of the famous Henry VIII of England, exchange places for what is meant to be "only an hour or two." Orginally a novel by Mark Twain, The Prince and the Pauper is a lively musical adventure. Come see WRYT's production of The Prince and the Pauper, where you will learn that sometimes, it's better to stay and love the people we are. The show is directed by Adam Schuler and Musically Directed by Katrina Faulstich. Children entering grades 5-9 from Melrose, Wakefield, Lynn, Saugus, Reading, Lynnfield, and Winchester will be featured in the musical. The shows will take place on:

The most modern public building in Melrose, the new Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School (MVMMS) opened in 2007. Except for a handicapped ramp constructed in 1987 and a renovation of the auditorium completed in 1999, the original middle school - originally Melrose High School - had no significant renovations since it was built in 1933.

Today, under the stewardship of Principal Tom Brow, the middle schools offers 24 student clubs and activities and 14 intramural sports. The school was awarded a Spotlight School award by the New England League of Middle Schools in 2008.
