  What&rsquo\;s better than apple pie\, hot dogs\, ice cream and lemonade
 ? This year&rsquo\;s spring concert by the&nbsp\;Reading Community Singe
 rs&nbsp\;on Saturday Evening\, May 12\, 2012 at the Performing Arts Cent
 er at Reading Memorial High School in Reading.&nbsp\;\nYou'll see lots o
 f familiar faces in this all-American concert featuring talented Lynnfie
 ld residents Pat Campbell\, Katherine Hashian\, and Skip Kiley\, &nbsp\;
  This marks the 92nd&nbsp\;spring performance by the 70-plus member grou
 p\, putting it in the running for the title of longest\, continually per
 forming amateur choral group in the country.&nbsp\; RCS is directed by t
 he wonderfully dynamic Beth Mosier\, and draws singers from more than a 
 half dozen towns surrounding Reading. Having the phenomenal Joe Beninati
  as our accompanist is a real plus!\nThe May 12thconcert\, set to begin 
 at 7:30 p.m.\, is&nbsp\;American Pops!&nbsp\;&nbsp\;It&rsquo\;s packed w
 ith favorite 20thCentury American music &ndash\; Patriotic\, Gospel\, Br
 oadway and even Woodstock! &nbsp\;There&rsquo\;s plenty&nbsp\; for every
 one to enjoy. &nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;RCS&rsquo\; spring concert always highligh
 ts the winner of the RCS Annual Scholarship. This award which is present
 ed to a local student\, is based on academics\, musical ability and a de
 sire to continue to share their talent with future audiences. RCS is pro
 ud to announce that this year&rsquo\;s winner is RMHS senior\, Ian West.
 &nbsp\;Ian will be featured as guest artist performing on violin selecti
 ons by J.S. Bach and Jimi Hendrix\, as well as the premier performance o
 f&nbsp\;Riverwood&nbsp\;which Ian composed.&nbsp\;\nTickets for this con
 cert are $18.00 for adults and $12.00 for seniors and students. A drawin
 g and complementary dessert buffet will follow the performance.&nbsp\;Fo

 munity Service award and has received grants from the Reading Cultural C
 ouncil\, Eastern Bank and the Harpley Foundation. RCS is a member of the
  Greater Boston Choral Consortium.\nReading Memorial High School is loca
 ted on Oakland Road in Reading and is handicapped accessible. &nbsp\;Tak
 e Rte 28 to Birch Meadow Drive to Oakland Road. The Performing Arts Cent
 er is located off the last parking lot on the right.\nThis program is su
