Do Your Duty – Vote on Monday.  Monday will be a big day in Lynnfield.  Town officers for the coming year will be elected on that day responsibility for administration of community affairs will be definitely relegated to these individuals who are in the eyes of their fellow townspeople, best qualified for the positions. Local News about town New Diner in Lynnfield.  Lynnfield is now supporting another eating place. Al’s Diner on Broadway serves special dinners and booth service is available.  Alymer Bennett and “Chic” Hastings are the proprietors and have as chef Al Remillard, formerly with the Puritan Diner, and Mickey’s Diner.  Modern cooking equipment has been installed which in turn guarantees quicker and better service. Local News about town Lynnfield and Its Future.  The Town of Lynnfield is growing rapidly.  We all realize this fact and we all know that it will continue to grow, perhaps even more rapidly than heretofore.  In 1940, the Building Inspector issued nearly one hundred building permits with an estimated value of $225,000.  It appears that 1941 is going to bring more building activity.  The reason for this growth is obvious.  Lynnfield is one of the few remaining undeveloped towns within each reach of Lynn, Boston, and its surrounding cities.  During the past few years we have seen how the …
Local News about town, week of January 2, 1941, Lynnfield Village Press:  Officer Riggs Bitten by Dog.  Officer Riggs was severely bitten on the leg by a dog last Saturday during his tour of duty around Pillings Pond.  He has been confined to his home since that time.  The holiday was observed very quietly and sanely throughout the town, the police department not having received a single complaint and made no arrests.Draft Board, 88 Calls Local Men.  Local Draft Board No. 88 having sent out early this month questionnaires for all registrants having order numbers under 600, discontinued that …
