Dog of the Day June 8: TEDDY!!!!

"Hi, I'm Teddy. I have not yet found the right family. I'm an independent boy who still needs the love and attention of people to love me. I've never learned to share and I'm having a hard time finding a family who will accept me for me. I'm very protective of my food and toys.... I'm afraid I'll never see them again. I can easily trade any of my toys for a tasty treat, I'm no fool you know. No one seems to understand me. I've been bounced around a lot and I'm just looking for that special family who will give me the chance I need to figure out where I belong. I'm truly a staff favorite and everyone here at the Northeast Animal Shelter loves me very, very much. But I can't live here forever. I need to go home. Please ask about me. The staff has a lot to say and no one seems to be listening! Please listen. I'm a GREAT dog!"

He sounds like a super sweet dog. It is not uncommon for these little dogs to have issues with food and toys. They are held and carried and coddled and sleep in people's beds so they develop boundary issues and don't have a sense of who is the boss. They end up thinking they are the boss, just like this little guy here. With the right owner, this little dog will be just fine.

Actually, he reminds me of a poodle I had who used to bite people's feet when they came to visit me. Little poodles are one person dogs and become very possessive of their owners. I wish I was in a position to give this little guy a home. With some proper grooming and a haircut, this little fella would be a real show stopper.
