Who Won Latest Debate: Scott Brown or Elizabeth Warren?
Held in Springfield, this debate focused more on issues, less on personal attacks.
Vital issues core to this race for the U.S. Senate — taxes, healthcare, soaring higher education costs, abortion, insurance coverage of contraception — were the focus of last night's debate between Sen. Scott Brown and challenger Elizabeth Warren.
And, of course, there were different views of which candidate accomplished the most in this penultimate debate. The final debate between them is scheduled for Oct. 30.
Who do you think 'won' last night's debate? Tell us in the comments section below.

Elizabeth Warren kept addressing what she perceived on how Scott Brown Stood on the Issues.

Thanks to Prof. Warren for creating a new college drinking game: Every time she says "hammered" you must drink a shot of beer. Most of players were drunk after the first half hour of the debate.
Also every time Ms. Warren says "invest" just substitute the word "tax" and her positions becomes very clear.

Hi John
Speaking of taxes, who do you think is paying for that $24Billion in subsidies for Big Oil. If you do the calculations that amounts to approximately $240 per family of 4.
Who do you think is better off spending your money, you or the big oil companies?

Gee George, it is probably the same people who would be picking up the extra charges when the companies pass the cost of a tax increase onto the consumer. Can't you liberals figure that out....fresh, moonbat central isn't very intuitive.

Elizabeth Warren was correct in repeatedly reminding us that if we vote for Scott Brown, we are re-endorsing the GOP anti-women (women cannot be trusted to make their own moral choices) pro banking/finance/arms producers and continuing to legislate on behalf of the super multinational wealthy against the interests of this country. Yeah, Elizabeth! Surely we will not re-empower the job exporters and hedge fund gamblers. Elizabeth is all about what this country was founded upon: a fair chance for every citizen against entrenched wealth.

Yes, it's much better to condescend to women, and assume that they can't afford to pay for themselves.

Ah yes more Dem talking points. What specifically has Brown done in this so-called war on women?

Liz Warren is an astounding hypocrite. She was an Indian when that helped her get a Harvard professorship. She bought foreclosed houses and flipped them for a nifty profit . She represents whoever will pay her the most (which seems to include many of the evil corporations she now attacks) . She is most everything she claims to be against .

Mr. Burns - Enough of the right wing Fox News talking points. It is nothing more than grasping at straws. Nobody has ever provided any proof that she benefited from her Native American heritage - including many reputable new organizations. I would also ask what is wrong with buying real estate, improving it, and selling it for a profit? This is the American Way - the very mantra of the GOP no less. If you want to speak out against truly abhorrent behavior, how about Mitt's source of wealth which included a number of corporate buyouts engineered to saddle the businesses with crushing debt while Mitt and his investors paid themselves millions in "dividends"? Many of these businesses were unable to navigate downturns without laying off hard working employees (who built the businesses in the first place) just so that business could pay the note on the debt used to line Mitt and friend's pockets. Not to mention a number of them that were forced into bankruptcy. That's an example of hypocrisy.

It's obvious that Warren did the better job last night. But I guess anyone would have done a good job against Brown's record!

Brown's record ? What don't you like ? That he voted with the Democrats 46% of the time ?

What is Brown's record? All he does is attack Warren. So I guess if you have nothing good to say about yourself then throw mud.
BTW the 46% number comes from Brown's camp. Independent sources say he voted with the Rupublicans 74% of the time. And now that he's been endorsed by the Tea Party that figure is sure to go up!

Brown vote on issues that have no chance of passing so he can lie about his record. On material issues, he is at 75%. He's just the rest of them. The big money, the tea party, and Grover Norquist have hijacked our government. It's time to take it back.

If you're looking to compare voting records please try the following website:
http://www.opencongress.org/people/compare. I ran a comparison to Sen Kerry (votes Party Lines 96% of the time) and it would appear to me that Sen. Brown has been largely Bi-Partisan since he came to office. Also, a study done by the Boston Globe for 2011 shows Brown as the 2nd most bi-partisan Senator. I'm an independent, so one aspect of this election I'm looking at in great detail is the candidate's ability to take that bi-partisian road. I just don't see Warren, who I feel will be a John Tierney / Pelosi example of a Democrat rubber stamp in the Senate, as a the right direction for the U.S.

Rick - That's a cool web site that I haven't seen before. Thanks for the link. When I looked here, I saw a red herring in Brown's claim to be the second most bipartisan GOP senator with a 67% GOP voting statistic. I would have to think (a little conspiracy theory here) that this was either by design of his handlers so that he could make this claim to a largely democratic MA electorate or he was simply doing other things he deemed more important to vote. Either way, I have to look as his absence a unacceptable. His responsibility is to be there for the votes. Had he been there, his 67% would no doubt be a great deal higher. I have my mind made up and I don't think he's been truthful with us.

You do realize Brown wasn't voted in until 2010. He wasn't voting because he wasn't in the senate.

The bottom line is .... If you are a Liberal Democrat then Warren should get your vote. If you are a Moderate Democrat, Independent or Republican then Brown should get your vote.

He's no moderate! He's beholden to the Republican party. Haven't seen an ad yet from an independent source for him aside from the League of Woman's voters which admonished him on his vote against clean air!
If he were an independent he should run as an independent or change his affiliation to Independent and stop trying to fool the people!
As Lincoln said, you can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time but you can't fool all Massachusetts voters all the time!

Disagree - Brown is not truthful. He's 75% with the GOP on material matters. The other 25% is there to try to hold on to his seat in a democratic population. He's no better than any of them and he's in Grover Norquist's back pocket too. Wake up.

Professor Warren keps reminding me of a born crusader. Only prblem is she crusades for the wrong things. Tax the rich how long do you think it will take her and the democarts to raise taxes on the rest of us. Regulate control same principle the USSR used to use and China still does. Educate everyone no matter what then tell them there are no jobs. Professor Warren is a rubber stamp for Pres Obama. That is the reason she did not receive the top post at the new consumer agency. What is interesting is not once has she spoken about Massachusetts only her national vision. She is not a native of Mass. she fights aganist our fishing inductry in the name of conservation and as any true radical only see;s her way and does not consider the opinions of others especially with womens's issue's. Pro choice yes but not shoved down the throats of those who disagree based on religious beliefs. It's a tough subject and all or nothing will not work. as to Dottie MacIntosh's comment on what America was founded on it was founded on religious tolerance for all beliefs. The Puritans , when they arrived were hardly rich but the principles of hard work perserverance, and frugality got them through. I don't know when it happened but it has become a sin to be successful and wealthy always blaming the rich for our woes. But look closely a lot of our current financial problems are due to individual greed second mortgages upon car loans upon fancy vacations. We all helped create this mess.

Everybody strives to be rich - but it shouldn't be on the backs of the middle class. That's who Professor Warren is fighting for - the middle class. It's called leveling the playing field!
BTW what is Brown's record? Seems all he's proud of doing is go out and talking to kings and queens. Oh wait, he had to admit those were lies. Well maybe he can talk about his record in his commercials. No, he's too busy attacking Warren. Well, how about at the debates. Seems the only thing he's proud of is the ONE vote he took with Democrats on a jobs bill. What about all the other votes he took in lock step with Mitch McConnell and the Tea Party?

Hi Anthony
It seems that Brown does not subscribe to your philosphy. He keeps bring up the fact that Warren makes $350K teaching at Havard. She got there through hard work and perservance. Accordingly we should extol her accomplishments!

Someone put it best by saying "I don't mind you being rich, I mind you buying my government.". Kudos to Professor Warren for her success, which we celebrate as a capitalistic society. She's fighting for the right reasons and truly has the well being of the country front and center.

Hi John
Here are some more facts : Reagan increased the debt by 200%, Bush Sr by another 50%, and Bush Jr by 100%. Clinton increased it by 40% and Obama by 60%
Under democrats the debt went up 100% under Republicans it went up 350%
The obvious conclusion is that Republicans are Fiscally Irresponsible!
Another fact: The wars in Iraq and Afghanstan cost us $4 trillion of that 16 trillion debt
Thanks to Republican Irresponsibility!

Another question I would love to ask is, when we go to oil rich countries(Iraq Kuwait Saudi Arabia) and fight for THEIR freedom, why is that an expense to us? The USA should be repaid every dollar from those nations with affordable oil or cash.
