What Should Go Here?
There's a few vacant storefronts in town, including the one that was once home to the Chocolate Truffle. Do you have any ideas for what should go in there next?
It's been about a year now since the Chocolate Truffle announced it would close its Lynnfield location as part of a revamped business strategy. While the chocolate pizza slices and gourmet candy bars have completely vanished from the location, an empty storefront in a fairly high-visibility location remains.
Overall, it's really not a bad location, so there's a good chance more than one entrepreneur is willing to give this place a look.
With that, I invite you to channel your own inner entrepreneur and tell us - what would you like to see go in this space? My own two suggestions - How about a donut shop or a gourmet foods shop? Answer in the comment box below!

I learned one thing from the Chocolate store: Don't get between one of these women who drive an SUV and Chocolate. You will get run over.

Maybe an ice cream shop would be great. There is one of the best in Meltharb's down the streeet. 2nd location for them? Heard the owner passed, sad.

You know, the minute she said "Ice cream parlor," something clicked about that idea for that particular spot, especially since it's one type of business the town doesn't seem to currently have. I've never tried Maletharb's but hear it is quite good. I assume that one would be very popular with Lynnfielders because it's a quick drive too.

You should go to Metharbs Bill. 10 times better than Ben and Jerry's. That is a big statement, but many from Lynnfield will agree. Maybe not ten times, but as good.
How would the traffic handle this? I can think of 2 immediate problems. 1. the frontage parking has about 8-10 spots. 2. The kids that hang out back. Must say, they are not trouble makers, but I am not sure the back parking lot can handle the 100+ that will be hanging out for the ice cream. Those can be handled so I say, go for it. Heck, maybe I will.

Thanks Don I think I will stop in and try the place out soon. As a true New Englander, I don't have to wait until spring to want ice cream...

Now that is a New Englander. If you look towards the left where the metal shop is, you might notice the rails. this is exactly where the Rail Trails is going. Imagine getting on your bike in Lynnfield, have a nice ride through the "meadow" and then arrive here to have an ice cream. It is sooooo good. There used to be a coffee shop/bakery at the end, that would be a gold mine on the rail trail also. Awesome how good things happen simultaneously.

An old fashioned English Tea Shoppe, complete with scones, pasteries and simple sandwiches. Also, some tea accesories..decorative tea pots, loose teas etc. Something quaint with a few little tables, where friends can spend a little bit of time catching up and have a little time for themselves over a cup of tea and a raspberry scone. My friend and I have discussed this, just need investors!

That is an excellent idea 2. Maybe even better. My wife and I were talking about places to get "dessert" say about 9-10 at night. There are a few dessert bars around, but I have been to other cities where there are many. This tea shoppe idea is very good and would attract some small business to Lynnfield.

What do you think about a computer repair shop where bottecellis used to be down post office square? Think it would do business?

Michael I'm doing another one of these "What should go here" features this week and I'm going to mention your idea at the former Botticelli's and see if some other ideas come up. - Bill Laforme
