Two Minor Incidents Involving Verizon Strike Reported
The following information was supplied by the Lynnfield police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Lynnfield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, August 12 and Sunday, August 14.
On Friday, August 12 at 1:18 a.m., police issued a summons to a 24 year old Somerville man for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and for a lights violation.
At 8 a.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported on the Goodwin Rotary.
At 8:25 a.m., a Bishops Lane resident reported that someone had slit her tires.
At 9:20 a.m., a burglar alarm went off on Perry Ave. It was apparently set off by a balloon in the house.
At 9:46 a.m., a Painter accidentally triggered a burglar alarm on New Meadow Road.
At 11:24 a.m., a burglar alarm went off on Main Street.
At 3:35 p.m., an individual reported that his trailer had been stolen on Main Street.
At 8:16 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on Salem Street.
At 8:54 p.m., police received a report of an odor of smoke on Ashwood Road. The fire department responded but there was apparently no fire.
At 9:50 p.m., police performed a lift assist on Ross Drive.
At 9:51 p.m., a Pine Street resident reported that her elderly neighbor's house had been toilet-papered. The homeowner was apparently not there at the time and the woman requested extra patrols.
On Saturday, August 13 at 1:10 a.m., a domestic disturbance was reported on Glen Drive. However, police found no disturbance.
At 1:40 a.m., a group of loud youths was reported on Oxbow Road. They were gone on arrival.
At 2 a.m., a suspicious auto was reported near Mohawk Lane and Lowell Street.
At 7:45 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at Mortgage Equity Partners on Broadway.
At 9:23 a.m., a burglar alarm went off on Putney Lane.
At 10:17 a.m., a Wirthmore Road resident reported that she heard fighting at a neighbor's home.
At 6:26 p.m., a burglar alarm went off at Lynnfield Commons.
At 8:55 p.m., a suspicious auto was reported on Pond View Lane, parked with its lights off at the cul-de-sac. It was gone on arrival.
At 10:24 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Melody Lane.
At 11:39 p.m., a Greenwood Road resident reported a loud party. The group agreed to call it a night.
On Sunday, August 14 at 11:58 a.m., police performed a well-being check on Lowell Street.
At 12:15 p.m., a caller reported that an interior window of a neighbor's home had been broken, although the exterior one was still intact.
At 3 p.m., a suspicious individual was reported walking on Phillips Road.
At 3:41 p.m., a Verizon employee reported from a work site that strikers would not allow him to leave. The parties moved shortly thereafter.
At 4:27 p.m., a possible fight was reported at the Post Office Square Mobil. Police did not find any problem upon arrival.
At 5:27 p.m., a Verizon technician reported from Apple Hill Lane that picketers were blocking his truck. They moved soon after.
At 6:17 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Wildewood Drive.
At 6:44 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Wildewood Drive.
At 7:17 p.m., a buglar alarm went off on Ramsdell Road.
At 7:19 p.m., an Apple Hill Lane resident called to report a burglary that occurred while she was away.
At 7:44 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Wildewood Drive, apparently set off by the dog.
At 8:56 p.m., an erratic operator was reported at Walnut and Salem streets. Police did not locate the drive but notified state police as well.
At 10:35 p.m., a group of youths were reported making noise and playing frisbee behind the Calvary Church. Police sent them on their way.
