State Police Make Drug Arrest In Lynnfield

Trooper found six pounds of marijuana during traffic stop on Route 128.

State Police arrested a man for possession of six pounds of marijuana during a Sunday afternoon traffic stop in Lynnfield.

According to a State Police report, Trooper Brian Quigley pulled over a car in Lynnfield for excessive window tinting, and upon subsequent investigation, allegedly found six pounds of marijuana, $2,500 in cash and "other items associated with drug distribution" in the vehicle.

A Boston Herald report added that along with having excessively tinted windows, the driver was allegedly driving very slowly on Route 95. He reportedly declined to roll down his window at first, and when he did, the odor that came out of the car tipped off the trooper to the presence of the marijuana.

The state police took the driver into custody displayed the seized contraband for the media later on Sunday afternoon.
