About 40 years ago there was an exotic pet store located on Route 1 at Upton Lane. Sold everything from snakes to Piranah. I think the new pizza shop is located there presently. Think that python found on Upton could have been left behind?

That would be one heck of a story if it was! I bet it was some irresponsible pet owner who couldn't handle the thing and just dumped it out there.

Correct William, there are a lot of irresponsible pet owners around...especially the ones who use our sidewalks as a toilet for their dog.

Sidewalk toilets are bad enough but this week alone I have found stuff on my deck and on my walk...I don't own a dog so why should I put up with this? I have to look before I step out the door. Sick of cleaning it up from my yard and the rug when it is dragged in.

Julia, you should not put up with this. The same thing happens to me all the time. Lynnfield dog walkers have no respect for the community. They have no right causing gross filth on our front yards and sidewalks. Dog mess is highly toxic to people and can cause infections like e-coli, salmonella, hook worms, MRSA flesh eating bacteria, etc. When you see a health violator, call the Board of Health and Animal Control. We should not live this way. This a serious health crime. Stay safe and healthy!!!

Is it a dog? Probably a coyote. We are infested with them.

Not a coyote...too small...that's why we don't always see it in the driveway or on the walk until it's too late.

I agree, I see dog owners letting their dogs do that all the time. It is disgusting. I had a little "small" mess by our back door the other morning, I suspect a coyote. One ran right down our walkway and 4 ran by me when I was out in the car trunk. They were small, scrawny looking. Probably don't produce much as they don't eat like domestic dogs, who eat like a lot of their owners who are large.

Good point Don, I have only seen two and they were both large animals. See, your never to old to learn. By the way I was only joking about the python being left behind by the pet store 40 years ago. I'm sure it was a careless pet owner. So dangerous.

I am sure you know about Florida, where people throw thier "pets" away. The snakes thrive down there and these pythons actually are eating the alligators. They are constrictors and can wrap themselves around the gator and crush them. They are stronger, then they swallow the gators whole. But much worse, someone had one of the most deadly cobras as a pet and threw it away. They are thriving now too all over FLA. Glad they would freeze around here. I think there needs to be regulation on these type of "pets".

Hopefully, we won't be stepping in python poop in he future. The canine variety is bad enough.
