POLL: If Lynnfield Had An Official Sandwich, What Would It Be?
After a long stretch of rainy weather, it's time to run a fun poll. Here goes.
On Tuesday, this website ran an item noting that a formerly local couple now operates two Boston-style sub shops in San Diego. Among the numerous local references on their menu are sandwiches named after their respective home towns of Burlington and Lynnfield.
The Lynnfield sandwich is roast beef, bacon, melted cheddar, onions, and bbq sauce. The Burlington’s Best sandwich is smoked turkey, bacon, melted cheddar cheese and bbq sauce.
In the comments section of that story, we got to talking a little bit about what would the official sandwich of Lynnfield actually be if there was one. Granted, the North Shore is roast beef country, but as Don pointed out yesterday, meatball subs and veal cutlets are also longstanding favorites around here.
Personally, I've become a huge fan of the turkey reuben with some Tabasco on it, while other longstanding favorites include the American sub, leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches, and a loaded grilled chicken sandwich (also with Tabasco of course).
So with that, lets have some fun with a quick poll question - if Lynnfield was to have an official sandwich, what would it be? I can only run so many poll choices, so feel free to comment below if something is missing. There's also some good humor potential here, so feel free to run with it.
